How Do I Get Furniture

GFRC is able to supply furniture items to people in need who receive benefits or low income.

Clients need to be referred to GFRC by a registered agency  - for example, a Housing Association, West Lindsey District Council, Social Services or Homestart. A list of referral agencies is provided on the
Referrers page.

The Referral Agency will check a client's eligibility, ask for proof of benefits and then send the details onto GFRC.

How to Choose Furniture

Once your details are received by GFRC, you will usually be contacted within three working days to arrange a specific appointment  for you to view and select furniture.

Important
Before you come to choose your furniture, please be aware of the following
:

Make sure you have measured the space that the furniture is to fit into.  Remember to bring the measurements with you.  We may have to charge if furniture does not fit and we have to bring it back.

There is a donation required for each item of furniture to help towards the running costs of GFRC.  This is variable depending on the items.

This donation should be in cash, paid at the time the furniture is selected. Unfortunately, furniture cannot be reserved and we are unable to accept cash on delivery requests.

Children are not allowed in the furniture warehouse for safety reasons, so please make alternative childcare arrangements.

Delivery can usually be arranged within two working days. The items will be placed in a ground floor room, unless of course you live in a flat.

All our delivery teams are volunteers and as such we have to ensure their safety. Please understand that your chosen furniture may not always be placed exactly where you would like it.

Deliveries only take place Tuesday - Friday  9:30am - 1:00pm

Items can only be obtained by the referred person for their sole use. Items must not be sold or passed on to others without the permission of GFRC.

Guidance notes for Clients are available on the Information Sheets Page
